Washington Crossing State Park is a beautiful and historic place to visit in New Jersey. It is part of the Washington’s Crossing National Historic Landmark, which commemorates the daring and decisive move by General George Washington and his troops to cross the Delaware River on Christmas night in 1776 and surprise the British forces in Trenton.

The park has many attractions and activities for visitors of all ages and interests. The Johnson Ferry House is an 18th-century farmhouse and tavern that served as a headquarters for Washington before the crossing. The Nelson House is where Washington and his officers stayed after the victory at Trenton, and the Swan Historical Foundation Collection, displays over 700 Revolutionary War artifacts.

The park has 140 acres of mixed hardwood forests and fields, where you can hike, picnic, birdwatch, or cross-country ski. You can also visit the Nature Center, which offers exhibits, displays, and educational programs for children, families, and school groups.
