Lehigh River

The Lehigh River is 109 miles long and is designated as a Scenic River by the State of Pennsylvania. It flows through a series of valleys and ridges in the Appalachian Mountains. The river drains the historic Lehigh Valley which was important in mining anthracite coal and producing steel. The river is popular for water rafting, kayaking, and canoeing, especially through the Lehigh Gorge State Park. The river flows into the Delaware at Easton, Pa.
