blank dot

Mongaup Rift is also known as Mitchells Falls and is a Class II rapid. There are ledge and shallows on the New York side. The rapids on the Delaware funnel into a chute, creating the biggest standing waves on the Delaware River. Access to the rapids for canoes and kayaks is from the NPS Upper Delaware River Boat Launch on the New York side of the river. As the river makes a turn, the next rapids are at Butlers Rift (mile 260) and Mill Rift, where there is an NPS boat ramp.
