Shohola Rift
Rapids
The Shohola Rift and Mongaup Rapids are perhaps the most challenging sections of the Delaware to safely navigate in this area, requiring paddling skills and river reading experience. There is a defined channel on the right side of the Shohola Creek area. From Lackawxen to Pond Eddy, the river is a combination of slow moving water, fast-moving channels, and eel weirs. Many outfitters use this section, with heavy traffic during the summer.
