Poxono Island Access
National Park Service Site
Located near Poxono Island, off Old Mine Road and 8 miles north of the Delaware Water Gap, the National Park Service operates a primitive access site offering a partially-paved boat ramp and limited parking. The site is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The 70,000-acre park follows 40 miles of the Middle Delaware National Scenic and Recreational River through the Delaware Water Gap. The access area has great views of the river, in addition to picnic sites, limited parking, sanitary facilities and trash disposal. It is maintained by the National Park Service off River Road, 9.3 miles north of the Delaware Water Gap. A boat launching fee is charged from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The next access point upstream is 8 miles upriver at Bushkill, PA.. The next downstream access point is 2 miles downriver at Smithfield Beach on the Pennslvania side of the river.
