Interstate 84 Bridge

Highway Bridge

Photo of Interstate 84 bridge over the Delaware River.

The Interstate route crosses New York State from the Hudson River to the Delaware, through Putnam, Ducchess, and Orange counties. The route across New York was completed in 1971 and upgraded in 1984. More recently, the bridge underwent a $40 million rehabilitation that involved new a new superstructure and new concrete decks. The bridge crosses the Delaware and Neversink Rivers less than 50 feet from the three-way boundary of New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The boundary is marked by the Tri-States Monument, located in the Laurel Grove Cemetery.
