Western Maryland Railway 9th Crossing
River Crossing

This crossing of the North Branch Potomac River was originally built by the Western Maryland Railway as the 9th crossing upstream from Hancock. In recent years, it has been turned into the Carpendale Rail-to-Trail project, connecting Maryland and West Virginia with a modern trail bridge. The trail connects with the Knobley Tunnel. More information on the rail trail can be found here.
