Dickerson Conservation Park

Maryland Recreational Site

Land adjacent to the C&O Canal above White's Ferry is preserved as part of Dickerson Conservation Park. The 304-acre park is undeveloped, but open to the public. Access is from White's Ferry Road north on Martinsburg Road approximately 2 miles. The park is adjacent to an area of the Potomac known as the "warm-water fishing area" because it is located directly south of the GenOn Dickerson Generating Station which discharged warm water directly into the river year-round until it shut down in 2020.
