Piermont Marsh

Piermont Marsh is located at the southern edge of the village of Piermont in Rockland County, New York. It encompasses 1,017 acres and lies on the western shore of the Tappan Zee. The site occupies two miles of shoreline south of the mile-long Piermont Pier and includes the mouth of Sparkill Creek and extensive tidal shallows. Piermont Marsh habitats include brackish tidal marsh, shallows and intertidal flats. The Sparkill Creek drains 11 square miles of watershed. The marsh is part of the New York State Birding Trail, which highlights world-class birding opportunities across the state.
