Tappan Zee Bridge
Hudson River Bridge
The Tappan Zee Bridge, officially known as the Governor Mario Cuomo Memorial Bridge, is a state-of-the-art, twin-span bridge across the Hudson River between Rockland and Westchester counties. It was built to replace the original Tappan Zee Bridge, which was located just to the south. The new three-mile cable-stayed span crosses one of the widest parts of the river and is the longest bridge in New York State. It features the longest shared bicycle/pedestrian path in the nation. The bridge's architectural features are lit nightly using energy-efficient LED fixtures.
