Schodack Island Boat Launch

Canoe/Kayak Access

Schodack Island State Park is located off the eastern shore of the Hudson River just south of Albany. The park has approximately seven miles of Hudson River and Schodack Creek shoreline that bound the 1,052-acre site. There are two launch sites: a large boat ramp suitable for both trailers and non-motorized craft on the Hudson River side and a smaller, kayak-friendly cartop launch on the Schodack Creek. The park's facilities include campsites, boat launch, playground, a nature trail, picnic tables and pavilions and showers. The site is part of the Hudson River Greenways water trail and has kayak storage racks. The boat launch is the one of several in the area to be renewed under the Hudson Eagles Recreation Area, an initiative launched in 2022 to improve public access and resiliency on the wild stretch of the Hudson between Kingston and Albany and enhance connections to the waterfront communities in the region.
