Henry, WV

Henry is an unincorporated community located in northwestern Grant County, West Virginia, United States. It lies on Elk Creek shortly before its confluence with the North Branch Potomac River. It is also the site where the Western Maryland Railway tracks and and W. Va. Route 90 converge.The valley provided a vital transportation route from as early as the French and Indian War. The area was also the site of a 1756 skirmish of the French and Indian War, known as the "Battle of the Trough." Henry was named after Henry G. Davis, a mining executive who became a U.S. Senator from West Virginia and was the Democratic nominee for Vice President in 1904.
