Morgan County

Named for General Daniel Morgan, the county is 230 square miles with a population of 12,100. Principal towns are Berkeley Springs (also known as Bath) and Paw Paw. A long stretch of the winding Potomac River is the western and northern border of Morgan County. To the east is Berkeley County, and to the south is Hampshire County. The Cacapon River, one of the most scenic rivers in the eastern U.S., is the main tributary of the Potomac flowing through Morgan County.
