Prather's Neck Wildlife Management Area, near Clear Spring in Washington County, offers excellent hunting and wildlife-associated recreation on a small peninsula of land surrounded by the Potomac River. The 215-acre parcel was purchased in 2006 with Program Open Space Funds. A parking lot designed to hold 10 vehicles has been installed to accommodate hunters. Parking is restricted to this single lot. To reach Prather's Neck WMA, head south on Md. 56 from Clear Spring, turn left onto Four Locks Road and continue onto Ankeney Lane, which ends at the designated parking lot. 301-842-2702.
