Watts Branch Stream Valley Park

Montgomery County Park

blank dot

Watts Branch drains a large area of upper Montgomery County, including areas of Rockville, Potomac and and Travilah, with its headwaters near Interstate 270. It empties into the Potomac near to the WSSC Potomac Filtration Plant. Watts Branch Stream Valley encompasses nearly 438 acres and protects the Watts Branch, a tributary of the Potomac River. The park is dedicated to environmental preservation and remains undeveloped for active recreation. The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission acquired the park in stages. The first 29-acre acquisition was in 1967, and the most recent acquisition occurred in 1996.
