Billy Goat Trail

National Park Service Site

A winding 2-mile trail, which begins at canal mile 13, goes out along the Potomac heights. The trail is steep in spots, and requires scrambling over rocks and climbing small cliffs, but it allows a true "wilderness" experience within a few miles of the Nation's Capital. Access is from Old Angler's Inn parking area off MacArthur Blvd. A return trip follows the canal towpath along Widewater.
