Big Run State Park

Maryland State Park

Big Run State Park is at the headwaters of the Savage River, with access to the Savage River Reservoir and the Savage River State Forest. The park is accessible from New Germany Road. Campers at Big Run have easy access to fishing, boating, hiking or hunting opportunities. Autumn visitors have a spectacular view of the changing colors on the surrounding mountain ridges. The campsites are primitive and somewhat isolated. No drinking water is available at the park. Campsites can be reserved using the Maryland park reservation system.
