Broad Run, MD

Tributary

This small tributary of the Potomac flows 8.9 miles from Poolesville, Md. to the Potomac. The stream and its watershed are almost entirely within the Montgomery County Agricultural reserve. An interesting aqueduct of the C&O Canal crosses the stream between Edwards Ferry and Whites Ferry. In Virginia, there is another tributary named Broad Run, which flows into the Potomac below Goose Creek.
