Near the site of the family home of Francis Scott Key, this memorial is located in the Georgetown neighborhood next to the bridge named for the author of the Star Spangled Banner. The memorial includes a bronze bust of Francis Scott Key and exhibits about the story of Key's poem.
The house was dismantled and stored nearby during the construction of the Whitehurst Freeway, but according to legend, has never been found. The memorial was dedicated in 1993.
