This 14-mile creek starts near the town of Burke, Va., and flows along the boundary of Fort Belvoir to empty into Pohick Bay and form Gunston Cove. Upstream, the creek is popular for whiteater kayking, rafting, and paddling near U.S. Route 1 in Lorton. A number of small lakes have been formed by flood control projects in the upper watershed.
