The Little Falls Branch runs 3.8 miles through southern Montgomery County, Maryland. Once known as "Powder Mill Branch", it drains parts of Bethesda and Friendship Heights and a section of northwest Washington, D.C. It enters the Potomac at Little Falls. The Little Falls watershed is home to three creeks ? the Little Falls Branch, the Willett Branch and the Minnehaha Branch. Around those creeks is the 160 acre Little Falls Stream Valley Park and much of the popular Capital Crescent bike trail. The Little Falls Watershed Alliance is the local watershed group dedicated to the protection of the watershed; it conducts more than 40 volunteer events each year in the watershed.
