The Power Canal Reservoir, also known as the Montague Power Canal Reservoir, is a significant water feature located on the Connecticut River in Montague, Massachusetts. It is part of the Connecticut River Greenway State Park and the Appalachian Mountains. The reservoir was created as part of the hydroelectric power generation system, which includes the Cabot Station. The power canal was built parallel to the river below the dam – 600 feet long by 50 feet wide and 10 feet deep. This reservoir plays a crucial role in the region’s energy infrastructure.
