Hatfield is a small, rural town located in Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Founded in 1670, Hatfield is rich in agricultural history and prides itself on its close-knit community. The town is situated along the Connecticut River and is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, Hatfield had a population of 3,352. Today, Hatfield is a quiet rural bedroom community and is home to various departments including the Accountant, Ambulance Department, Animal Control, Assessors Office, Building Commissioner, Collector, Council On Aging, Department of Public Works, Fire Department, Library, Police Department, School Department, Town Administrator, Town Clerk, Town Secretaries, Treasurer, Veterans’ Agent and more.
