Warehouse Point
Connecticut River Town
Warehouse Point is a historic area located in East Windsor, Connecticut, on the east bank of the Connecticut River. It was established in 1636 by William Pynchon, the founder of Springfield, Massachusetts, who erected a warehouse for his settlement’s transshipment of goods. The warehouse served as the southern border of Springfield for 132 years until 1768, when Warehouse Point was annexed by the Connecticut Colony. Today, Warehouse Point is part of the town of East Windsor and is known for its picturesque public park situated at the confluence of the Scantic and Connecticut Rivers. It is also home to the historic Warehouse Point Railroad Bridge, a girder bridge with a truss main span crossing the Connecticut River.
