Hartford
City
Hartford is the capital city of the U.S. state of Connecticut and is located in Hartford County. As of the 2020 Census, it had a population of 121,054. Founded in 1635, Hartford is among the oldest cities in the United States and is home to the country’s oldest public art museum, the oldest publicly funded park, the oldest continuously published newspaper, and the second-oldest secondary school.
The city is also known as the "Insurance Capital of the World" due to the many insurance companies headquartered there. The Connecticut River is a significant feature of Hartford, adding to the city’s landscape and offering various recreational opportunities.
