Soccer Stadium
Audi Field is a soccer-specific stadium located in Buzzard Point in Washington, D.C., close the the Anacostia River and Nationals Park. It is the home stadium for both of Washington, D.C.'s professional soccer teams, D.C. United in Major League Soccer and Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League. The stadium seats 20,000 people. It officially opened its doors on July 14th, 2018. The facility was originally proposed for Poplar Point on the Anacostia River, but in 2007 there were several disputes about the location. The land at Buzzard Point was acquired by the District of Columbia in 2014. The stadium can be reached by subway to the nearby Navy Yard station, or by water taxi to Diamond Teague Park on certain game days.
